Myth and Beauty by Dew Kim
My visual storytelling is inspired by my memories and experiences. My seven illustrations are inspired by traditional Korean art including paintings, textile designs, mythological and folktale elements all married with a contemporary sensibility in the fantasy story movement. My works suggest the next stage of fashion illustration, which also reflects my background in fashion and Korean heritage.
My illustrations are a collaboration of digital technology and various medium, which drive the diversity of my artistic depiction. The traditional Sumi drawing links digital techniques with whimsical color schemes, where the end result portrays a vintage look with a romantic and dreamy mood.
